Enara Iratzagorria Gancedo
Enara Iratzagorria Gancedo is working on her doctoral thesis in Contemporary Art at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Her research analyses the pictorial and literary works of the Basque artist María Franciska Dapena (1924-1995), combining an interdisciplinary methodology and developing research based on the gender perspective. The research on Dapena began with the project “Baginen Bagara”. Subsequently, thanks to a grant awarded by the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum and the BBK (2022-2024), she produced a catalogue raisonné compiling the artistic works by Dapena. She has been a member of several research groups, for example, in “Desnortadas. Territories of gender in contemporary artistic creation” (PID2020-115157GB-I00). She is currently collaborating with the “Hariak” group and is also part of the project “ALMA: Visionary artists in Spain: spirituality, feminism and utopia (1900-2000)” (PID2023-146120NB-100).
