He is co- Principal Investigator of the group Hariak. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and Literary Studies from the UPV/EHU. Since 2006 he is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Language and Literature Didactics at the same university. His research focuses on contemporary Basque literature from perspectives such as the sociology of literature or queer studies. He is the author of the monograph Izan gabe denaz (2015, On what exists without existing), a sociological approach to journalistic literary criticism published in Basque, and has coordinated two collective books: Maldetan sagarrak (2006, Apples on a slope), which collects essays on the representation of political violence in Basque literature and Desira desordenatuak (2010, Disorderly desires), a compilation of queer literary criticism. In 2020 he published the anthology of contemporary Basque short stories Eskuko ekipajea (Hand luggage). He has directed several research projects since 2016 and has been a visitant researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Columbia University in New York.

He collaborates as a literary critic in the press (Egunkaria, Berria, Deia) and is a member of the Galtzagorri and UEU associations.
